Materials:
- Wax paper
- Crayons (fall colors like red, orange, yellow, and brown)
- Pencil sharpener
- Fall leaves (real or paper cutouts)
- Iron
- Scissors
- Ribbon or string
- Hole punch
Instructions:
- Collect Leaves: Go outside with the kids and collect some fall leaves, or cut out paper leaves in fall colors.
- Crayon Shavings: Use the pencil sharpener to create crayon shavings in autumn colors (red, orange, yellow, brown).
- Prepare Wax Paper: Cut two pieces of wax paper about the same size. Lay one piece flat on a table.
- Create the Suncatcher: Sprinkle the crayon shavings lightly across the wax paper, leaving some spaces. Place a few of the fall leaves (real or paper) on top.
- Seal and Melt: Lay the second piece of wax paper over the shavings and leaves. Have an adult carefully iron over the wax paper with a low heat setting, melting the crayon shavings to create a stained glass effect.
- Cut Shapes: Once the paper cools, cut it into fun shapes like circles, leaves, or hearts.
- Add Ribbon: Punch a hole at the top, thread a ribbon or string, and hang it in a window to catch the autumn sunlight!
