We’ve got a great idea on how to decorate your classroom with student names. Get inspired by this creative decorate your classroom idea. It is a great way to personalize your space!

The classroom should be a place where students feel safe, comfortable, and engaged in learning. I always say, “The classroom is our second home.” We are often there more hours in a day than we are at home so we need to love it and take care of it.

In a classroom, it is important for everyone to feel valued. That’s why we created this low-cost classroom decorating idea that will inspire you to create an environment that supports student success.

Wall of Fame

If you’re looking for inspiration on classroom decorating ideas, give this activity a try. Students feel special having their names on the wall. I got this idea from my mentor teacher years ago when I was a student teacher. I have run with it and it is now my signature activity I do every year in my classroom. Teachers love it, students love it, and parents love it!

The best thing about a wall of fame is that it’s inexpensive and easy to create. Students can use a variety of materials, such as construction paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils, cut-out designs, shiny paper, etc. Students decorate their names with things that are special to them. Some will decorate with sports, animals, games, books, and other things they enjoy. You can laminate them if you choose or hang them as is.

How to get started

Print the attached letters, see below. I recommend printing the letters on card stock if possible so you have them year after year. I also suggest, depending on the age group, cutting out the letters for the students and gluing them together after they finish decorating their names. This can be time-consuming, but it is well worth it! I have used this with all ages up to 10th grade! Even the older kids love it! This is a great beginning-of-the-year activity!

I hope you love and enjoy this as much as I do!
